The story
From the other side of the table.
Before founding Unicorn Buyers Agents, Dan Sofo spent fifteen years in hospitality — owning and operating a chain of businesses with more than 80 staff and $7M in annual turnover. Building and running that business taught him one thing above all else: the person who understands people, reads rooms, and builds genuine relationships wins.
When Dan turned his attention to Sydney property — buying for himself, navigating auctions, dealing with agents skilled at extracting every last dollar — he saw an obvious gap. Sellers had seasoned professionals fighting in their corner at every step. Buyers were largely on their own.
He decided to do something about it.
Unicorn Buyers Agents launched as a deliberate antidote to that imbalance: an agency built solely around the buyer's interests, combining industry-grade research tools, deep agent relationships, and a negotiation approach honed across hundreds of real transactions.
The Difference
What Dan does differently.
01
Honest price intelligence
No media commentary, no vendor spin. Price assessments built from comparable sales, auction results, campaign signals, and direct conversations with the agents who know what properties actually trade for. No guesswork. Just numbers.
02
Off-market access
A meaningful share of the best properties in the Eastern Suburbs, Inner West and North Shore never reach a public listing. They move quietly, to people who are already known. Dan’s network means his clients see what most buyers simply don’t.
03
Negotiation, not just finding
Many buyers agents find properties. Dan negotiates them. Pre-auction offer, post-auction pass-in, private treaty — his job isn’t done until the price and terms are the best achievable.
“
“Dan cross-examines, executes with absolute precision, and leaves every last cent not needed to be spent in his clients’ account.”
Credentials
Licensed. Accredited. Accountable.
Dan holds a full NSW real estate licence and operates as Licensee-in-Charge of Unicorn Buyers Agents, and holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Business. He is an accredited member of PIPA and REBAA, Australia’s peak professional bodies for buyers agents.
The Record
250+ purchases. Every one of them personal.
First home buyers finding their footing, seasoned investors building portfolios, owner-occupiers upsizing and downsizing. Despite growing his team to three other licensed agents, when you engage Dan directly, you work with Dan directly — not a junior, not an associate.
